As wedding photographers we got this wonderful job of running around with big cameras, collecting people’s memories from that very important day in their lives. But what happens after that day or… before that day? What happens in your everyday life? Aren’t those ordinary moments without confetti worth remembering too? One thing we are really keen to do is more lifestyle photography and document those everyday life moments of a family. When we had the chance to do this a few weeks ago, we decided to approach it in a very natural and relaxed way – as we do with our wedding photography.
We made a visit to Bearsden to meet Sam & Nathan and their little boy, Boyd. We joined the three of them for some Sunday afternoon adventures in their exceptionally steep hillside garden and to visit the ducks and other rather more imposing wildlife in their local park! Keeping up with such a lively two-year-old was no mean feat and it was a struggle to remember to point our cameras at Sam & Nathan for at least a few shots. But we had a fantastic afternoon, we got a glance into their life (major house rebuild included) and now we can’t wait to see them all again come the eve of the summer solstice when we will be photographing their wedding celebrations in a seafront garden in the village of Crail in Fife.
